It would appear that was not going to happen. I tried to sew a few times and each time it appeared like someone had destroyed it. I tried to cook - but something always seemed to be missing. Designing my own place was challenging enough that I couldn’t image trying to do it for other people. The only thing that was simple for me to design was my daughter’s bedroom.
Theme
The first thing that I had to decide on was the theme. I wanted something girly and adorable - but that I knew no one else had done. Everybody else I knew at the time was doing Winnie the Pooh or Disney Princess. So I picked out something special. I selected Tinkerbell!
Color Scheme
Once you have picked the theme the colors are simple to come up with. Tinkerbell’s colors are green, light pink, and purple. Pink is something that you discover in nearly every girl’s room. So of course that was out. I decided on a light purple that would open the room up when the light entered while still looked girly!
Patterns
Next came the baby room design that would go on the wall. I had somebody paint a large tree on one of the larger walls. The tree was full of blooming flowers. Around all of the other walls I had a number of sticker fairies flying around the walls and framing the window. The entire thing came together great and I will be sad when we modify it after she has grown out of it!
