Adding Personal Touches To The Home

Home is where our heart is or should be and is where we often pass a great deal of time. As such we have to find a good way that we are able to beautify it. Choosing furniture is simple and we frequently have it down to a science. However, some of us have a tough time with what items we need to put along the walls or on the small end tables.

Pictures

My most preferred piece of decoration to put around my house are photographs. Anyone who comes into my home can tell that I love to catch every special moment and frame it. My living room has over ten different kinds of frames and innumerable pictures on the end table, coffee table, and along the wall.

Take your own pictures of family, good friends, or even of your dog. If you love to take pictures than why not be inventive and take some different ones of plants or homes. Be imaginative and even use unique visual aspects like black and white or sepia.

Art

Nothing could be better than choosing some artwork to hang along your walls. You can go to the closest Target and buy some good and low-priced pieces. You may find a painting of Paris or of a famous celebrity. Maybe you need to choose something with a famous quotation written on it and set it over a doorway?

Antique Plates

My grandmother loved to collect contrasting things. One of my favorite collections that she kept were the antique plate wall art. These were stunning and different. She hung them along the wall in the dining room and it worked well to bring the entire theme of the room together.
